Services

Distribution Insulator Contamination

Our patrols cover the full scope of routine distribution inspections, including conductors, insulators, crossarms, dead-end assemblies, regulators, capacitors, and more.

During these flights, we identify early signs of deterioration such as corrosion, rotten or UV-damaged crossarms, flashovers, tracking, loose hardware, vegetation encroachment, and weather-related degradation. All imagery is captured  and delivered through our chosen asset management platform, giving your team seamless access for project tracking and documentation. This eliminates the burden of storing and sorting thousands of raw photos internally. If preferred, we can also provide a dedicated SSD with all images upon request at the start of service.

Thermal Inspections

This service can be offered as a stand-alone patrol or paired with our ADD inspections for greater insight. Many utilities require a comprehensive “pulse check” of critical assets — including capacitors, regulators, step-up/step-down transformers, re-closers, potheads, and substation equipment. With Next Level UAV, thermographic imagery of these key assets provides the data you need to plan effectively, improve system health, and strengthen overall reliability

Power Quality Patrols (PQP)

Our targeted drone patrols are designed to diagnose unexplained circuit operations and recurring nuisance outages. We capture actionable data that supports root-cause analysis of equipment failures and identifies issues such as wildlife or vegetation contacts that are likely causing the interruptions. Before any work is initiated all System Operations data, fault condition analysis, weather condition at the time of interruption and any other pertinent data is collected to ensure a thorough investigation is performed. When reliability issues appear without warning, or a feeder breaker or re-closure is tripping with “no cause” reported — give us a call.

About US

Lineman climbing pole

My humble beginning wasn't flying drones, it came from the field.

For more than 17 years, I served inside one of the largest electric utilities in Texas, working my way through roles that touched nearly every stage of the electric distribution lifecycle. I built and maintained infrastructure as a Journeyman Lineman, restored power under pressure as a Troubleshooter, and coordinated outages, switching, and system restoration as a Distribution Operator. My career was forged in storms, emergencies, and high-consequence decisions where reliability, safety, and situational awareness were not theoretical concepts, but daily responsibilities.

That experience is the foundation of Next Level UAV.

Technology is impressive, but alone does not create reliability. The real challenge begins after the flight, when someone must understand what the data actually means in the context of distribution systems. Asset failures, loading issues, construction standards, and operational risks.

Too often, utilities are handed thousands of images and left to sort through them internally—burning time, adding cost, and delaying decisions. In effect, they’re paying for raw data when what they really need is insight.

Our goals are aligned with yours - reducing uncertainty, prioritizing risk, and supporting better decisions before failures happen. We exist to bridge the gap between inspection technology and practical utility operations.

Next Level UAV brings a system-level understanding of distribution operations to every inspection, helping utilities act with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Reliability isn’t optional. It’s a responsibility.

Let's take your Reliability to the Next Level
